Objective of this course
After completion of this online course you should be able to describe fleet management as business discipline in the context of the motor industry. You will also be able to explain the principles to manage car and specialised asset fleets effectively with due regard to generally accepted fleet management concepts. Upon completion of this course you will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of fleet management information required to perform fleet management and be aware of fleet management systems available to assist the fleet manager to perform his duties effectively. The facts presented in this course are an amalgamation of the texts and research of fleet industry experts. These have then been coupled with our own research, impressions and interpretations and then presented to you. Therefore what you read in these pages should be taken with a healthy amount of scepticism. The final objective is to eventually arrive at your own conclusions and understanding. The Fleet management online course material is aligned to the unit standard "operate the fleet" SAQA ID 113827 NQF Level 4 under the subfield Transport, Operations and Logistics. We work in association with some of the best fleet management consulting firms in South Africa including Mobilitas, an education consultant and accredited provider of fleet management training and development.
